SIGN ORDINANCE/RESTRICTIONS

"A-frame" real estate signs are limited to three (3') feet in height and six (6' square feet in total sign face area. Signs may be displayed on weekends from 10:00am Saturday sunset on Sunday at sunset and on Thursdays and Fridays between the hours of 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for broker's tours only. Signs must placed behind the sidewalk, and shall not encroach within the public right-of-way (e.g., bicycle paths, medians, or sidewalks). Signs shall not be placed on fences, utility poles, or walls.

One sign for each direction may be placed in an intersection for a subdivision. Eight signs for each subdivision are allowed. Signs must be placed no less than 1,000 feet apart. Motorist visibility must not be obstructed. Signs on secondary or residential street intersections shall be limited to a maximum combined total of four temporary off-site residential real estate signs and temporary off-site subdivision directional signs and arrows; provided, motorist visibility is not obstructed.

Recreational Vehicles

The San Ramon Zoning Ordinance requires Recreational Vehicles (RV) be stored or parked within a side or rear yard and located behind a seven-foot fence and will not be required to be registered with the City of San Ramon Planning Services Division.

Residents who have parked their RV on their property in the front yard set back area prior to 2006 may continue to store them parked on a paved surface within the front yard setback provided that all other zoning ordinance requirements are met.
