American Red Cross Blood Drive

Bay East Association of REALTORS® Member Benefits Council in partnership with the American Red Cross will hold a blood drive during the week of April 21 - April 26. The Blood Drive is an extension of the Health Faire held at the Association on April 4. One out of three people need donated blood in their lifetime. Donors that give back to their community help save more than four million American lives each year.

Want to be a kid again? Then put that pen down, move away from that desk, grab your putter and head out to the Georgie Porgie Mini Golf Tourney on Friday, July 25! This is the place to come to feel young at heart! Bring your family and show off your putting skills. Don't do so well on the green? That's okay! You can relax away the tensions of the day, treat yourself to some laughs and experience the gala surroundings of this mini golf course. MLS Update

It has been difficult to keep up with everything that is going on regarding possible MLS mergers and other changes, especially since it has been changing so rapidly. Expanding our MLS coverage is a goal we have been trying to accomplish for some time. Over the past three years, several alternatives have been proposed. The primary one has been to merge with MLSListings Inc (formerly NCREX) to form a Bay Area MLS.

REALTOR® Academy
April 7, 14, 21, 28 & May 5 (9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.)

Bay East is now accepting registrations for the annual REALTOR® Academy. New Agents, learn what you need to get started on a prosperous career! Seasoned Agents, refresh your knowledge! Come join us once a week for 5 weeks and gain the knowledge and confidence to create a business plan, obtain the skills to work with buyers and seller and learn the steps to complete a purchase contract and listing agreement.

• April 7 – REALTOR® Basics
• April 14 – Qualifying the Buyer
• April 21 – Paper Trail, Buyers
• April 28 – Paper Trail, Sellers
• May 5 – Closing the Transaction

Tuition for Program (all 5 modules):

Bay East Foundation Scholarship/Grant Program

The Foundation offers academic scholarships and grants to the children, grandchildren and custodial wards of REALTOR® members, Affiliate members and deceased members of the association who have contributed to the Foundation via the annual dues billing ($30 contribution).  These academic scholarships and grants are not limited to the pursuit of real estate related degrees but may be applied toward any advanced degree (i.e. AA, BS or BA, MBA, etc.).

Scholarship applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalency thereof, must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0, and must be enrolled as a full-time student for the semester or quarter for which the scholarship will be provided.

Grant applicants are those students who are in need of financial assistance and who are not otherwise qualified for a scholarship as indicated in the preceding paragraph.

Forms Advisor/Tutor Training

Forms Advisor was designed to help REALTORS decide which form to use during any stage of a real estate transaction.  Within the program, you can also deploy Forms Tutor which provides fundamental instruction for completing C.A.R. Standard Forms via interactive audio and text instructions.
