Questions and Answers about MORE

What is MORE?

Bay East, Contra Costa and East Bay Regional Data formed the Multiple Organization Reciprocal Exchange (MORE) and joined the existing data reciprocating efforts between the Quattro group and MLSListings® to meet our member’s growing MLS needs.

Agents' business today is borderless. It isn't confined to just one MLS, but instead spans across multiple MLS boundaries. That means paying fees to additional MLSs to have access to essential listing information. This agreement takes away those expenses by giving agents the ability to access additional MLS listing databases and to add listings directly into those MLSs without paying additional fees. In many cases, this will save agents $500 - $1,000 a year, or more.

When will MORE be available?
Members will be able to access the system starting Monday, March 15.

How does MORE work?
MORE enables an MLS user to log into his or her MLS system and from there, click a link to access any of the participating MLSs databases. This is called Single Sign-On. Once you have been authenticated into your home MLS, you can move freely to each of the other MLSs to search active and off market data. You can also input and maintain your listing in another MLS's database.

Which MLSs are involved in the data access agreement?
Bay East MLS, Contra Costa MLS, East Bay Regional MLS (EBRD), MLSListings, MetroList Services,Inc.(Metrolist®) San Francisco MLS and Bay Area Real Estate Information Services, Inc. (BAREIS MLS).

What areas are included?
Our members will have access to property and listing information in 21 counties and communities in the greater Bay Area, Sacramento region and the Central Valley. Click here to view a map of the geographic boundaries for the neighboring MLSs

Don’t our members have that now with MLS Alliance?
MLS Alliance is a search-only system with limited functionality. MORE provides more because it allows members to enter a listing into the MLS that covers the geographical area of that property. If an agent has a listing in Marin, they’ll be able to enter it and maintain the information in BAREIS without paying any additional fees.

Is this an MLS consolidation?
No; each home MLS will continue to serve its main subscriber base as usual. In addition to listing data management, MLSs provide a host of localized services to its subscribers including compliance and other transactional issues, financial services, news and information, industry best practices, training and outreach, customer support and more.

Who can participate in reciprocal access?
Access is available to subscribers of the MLSs participating in the reciprocal agreement only. Subscribers must be licensed or certified by the state of California, and must meet other requirements of their home MLS.

What are the other benefits of MORE?
Our members can access other MLSs and still receive technical support from Bay East. We will continue to provide training and support for Paragon as well as the other MLS systems. It's one-stop service: Our Support Center will handle all of the Paragon, Quattro and MLSListings calls for our MLS users.

Do I need to be a member of all of the participating MLSs?
No. As a member of Bay East, you will have access to all of the MORE participating MLSs.

What will I be able to do in MORE?
You will be able to search properties, input and maintain listing information and access all property categories and statuses in the four participating MLSs. At this time, tax information isn’t available in all of the MLSs. However, Paragon has recently added tax information for our MLS users for all of the counties covered by the MORE participants.

How will I get a listing entered in one of the participating MLSs?
To enter a listing, you will need to login to Paragon through the secure single sign-on process, clicking on the “Resources” icon on the menu bar and selecting one of the participating MLS from the drop down menu. Click here to see a sample. Our Technical Training staff is offering hands-on training classes providing basic information on inputting and maintaining data in the different MLSs. Click here for the class schedule. Training videos are also available for each MLS.

Where can I find input sheets for the newly accessible MLS platforms?

Click here to access input sheets for each of the participating system.

What about lockboxes?
Currently, the lockbox technology used throughout the greater Bay Area isn't fully compatible. Although our keys open lockboxes in the East Bay, and from San Francisco to Monterey, they don’t work for the BAREIS MLS and MetroList® areas. However, we've been meeting with these MLSs to open up access. Our conversion to the Supra iBoxes last year was a first-step toward technology compatibility. We'll continue to work on ways of opening access for Bay Area agents.

What MLS rules do I need to follow?
Agents will need to follow the rules of the MLS in which the listing is being placed. Click here for a summary of the different MLSs’ rules. Find a short summary of the different time frames enforced by each participating MLS systems.
