Ombudsman Program
The Ombudsman program is a FREE voluntary, confidential and very informal member benefit that most real estate issues may be referred i.e. ethics, rule clarifications, best practices, even communication issues with other members or clients.
Ombudsmen do not advocate for any party nor will they be finding “right or wrong” with the parties, instead, they will assist the parties to get clarity on the rules or issues and recommend possible options to resolve the problem before a more formal process is necessary.
If the parties do not agree to any options recommended by the Ombudsman, they may still proceed with mediation or enforcement processes with the Association, the Department of Real Estate or the court system.
If you would like to speak with an Ombudsman email amberc@bayeast.org or call Bay East’s Professional Standards Department at (925) 730-4065.
